Want to live that beach life but can’t quite afford to go away with the family? And what about the dog? That’s always a consideration for us whenever we plan a longer getaway with the kids. This time around it couldn’t have gone any smoother at our “Sea La Vie” summer rental, just minutes from the heart of Cape May.
We spent three nights in “Sea La Vie” in Villas, NJ and it was honestly the most enjoyable, relaxing, and easy vacation rental we’ve ever experienced. Along with another family of four plus TWO dogs, we were able to sink into this cozy but super spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom beach bungalow thanks to Cape May Boutique Bungalows.
Although we knew there were plenty of bedrooms, we were nervous about squeezing in with another family and two dogs but the layout of the house is perfect with two separate “wings” and gave us all lots of privacy with two bedrooms in the back of the property and the other two toward the front of the house. Check out the tour below!

This quaint and beautifully manicured bungalow is literally a 15-minute drive from pretty much all the sights on Cape May. There’s also an awesome ice cream shop around the corner that we loved called, Fleck’s, a Wawa down the road as well as a Super Walmart a few minutes away that’s perfect for stocking up on groceries while you’re there.

The highlight of this fun summer rental is definitely the backyard! It’s HUGE with everything you need to have an amazing stay. The kids loved the large above-ground pool and we all loved the hot tub! There’s also a grill with a nice large farm-style table and an outdoor sitting area for all of us to enjoy by the fire pit. The guys also enjoyed a little cigar time by the smaller gas fire pit at the end of the night.

We even caught a beautiful sunset while we were in the hot tub a few nights. Overall, the backyard was equipped with all the amenities we needed to enjoy the outdoors throughout our stay and we really had a great time hanging at the house during most of our time there. For families who prefer not to pack the enitre circus when traveling with their kids, there’s a shed full of equipment, toys and activities for eveyone to use. Streaming T.V. with Netflix and so much more at your finger tips. Sea La Vie has it all covered, for little ones too!
Although we pretty much grilled and took turns cooking breakfast and lunch, we did decide to explore the area a bit more for a local spot to have dinner. The Menz Restaurant & Bar was perfectly corky! It was about a 10 minutes drive from the house and as soon as you see it, you know you’re in for a one of kind experience.
There’s a huge sail boat in the middle of the parking lot and the entire front enterance has a fun and unique vibe. Very old school and eccentric but a perfect spot to tell your friends about when you get home. The food and service were great and we didn’t wait long at all to be seated.

Sea La Vie was everything you want in a little beach town vacation. It was comfortable, accessible, super relaxing and just overall easy. Which is key for us when we travel as a family. The beauty of Sea La Vie is in the details, the owners Jeannine and David, have really thought of every single aspect of providing an awesome and enjoyable experience. They really took care of all the typcial boring logistics of vacationing and made it hassle-free and super chill.
This Airbnb spot is a gem and I would definitely recommend it to any family that’s looking to enjoy the beach life without the touristy chaos. Not to mention, everything you can possibly want for the family and fur babies!

We really can’t wait visit again next summer but if you’re looking to book a stay, they may still have some availability in September 2022, which would be an awesome time of year too! Make sure you mention this blog for special consideration, wink, wink!
