The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC is officially back in person for 2022 and we couldn’t be more excited to experience all the fun again this year.
The festival runs from March 20th to April 17th, so there’s still plenty of time to plan your trip!
Here are some of our favorite highlights to look forward to this year:
Petal Porches
For the second year in a row, DC residents are invited to unleash their creativity and celebrate their springtime spirit by decoring their homes. Its’s such a pretty sight to see all the cherry blossom-filled porches throughout the DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland neighborhoods.
The Blossom Kite Festival
Choose your location to fly your kite this weekend, March 26th to March 27th. Either of the Washington Monument grounds featured parks or virtually.

Reserve your tickets for the parade which takes place on Saturday, April 9th on Constitutional Ave NW, between 7th and 17th
Petalpalooza
An outdoor extravaganza and a full day of live music and activities for the whole family ending with a bang in a firework show set to music at 8:30 pm, Saturday, April 16th, 1-9 pm
The last time we were there in 2019, it was a beautiful event at The Wharf, in DC (pictured) but it was definitely super crowded. This year it will be held at The Yards DC, which is a larger space and an awesome alternative.
We have tickets for the parade this year and we can’t wait to take in all the cherry blossom fun. Let’s hope the weather hold up because the parade takes place rain or shine!
