I think I’m late to the party but I have fallen in love with Annie Sloan chalk paint! Thanksgiving is around the corner and I’ve been doing a bit of sprucing up around the house. I love how the holidays inspire transformation so I finally decided to tackle a project that I have been wanted to do since we moved into our house about six years ago.
When we moved in we knocked down the wall between the existing kitchen and the formal dining room to have an open floor plan and as a result converted the formal dining room into a larger kitchen. We were still left with a formal living room, which I recently decided to convert into a studio/office (still in transition). One of the pieces that we originally purchased just to furnish the room was a very dark sideboard (credenza) from Bob’s Furniture. It was a great solid inexpensive piece but it was very dark and not very special to look at.I’d heard a lot of great things about painting furniture with chalk paint and Annie Sloan’s chalk paint in particular. I decided to do a little YouTube (I LOVE Youtube!) research and was pleasantly surprised on how easy and long lasting a small can of Annie Sloan paint can go! It’s not cheap (approx $43/quart) but worth it!

- Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – French Linen
- Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Wax – Clear
- Nylon Thin Angle Brush, 2.5″
- Clean White Cloths (Wipe Away Excess Wax)
- Short 50mm/2″ Brush (Apply Wax)
- Brush Comb (Clean Paint Brush)
- Small Paint Tray (Optional)
